Google pilots an 'Ask YouTube' conversational AI search experience
The new YouTube experiment blends video results with AI-generated summaries and follow-up Q&A, initially limited to U.S. Premium users.
Google is testing a conversational search experience for YouTube called "Ask YouTube," designed to make searching feel more like a dialogue and to combine video results with an AI-generated overview. The feature surfaces a summary plus curated sections pulling from long-form videos, Shorts, and related text, and lets users ask follow-up questions within the same interface.
Access is currently limited to YouTube Premium subscribers in the U.S. who are 18 or older, and YouTube says it is already developing the experiment for non-Premium users.
