Google shuts down Project Mariner
The experimental tool that could complete tasks across the web has been discontinued, with pieces folded into other Google offerings.
Google has discontinued Project Mariner, a feature meant to execute tasks for users across the internet. The Project Mariner webpage says it ended on May 4, 2026 and that its technology has moved into other Google products, including Gemini Agent and AI Mode.
