Nebius agrees to buy Eigen AI in about $643M deal to speed up and cut costs of AI inference
Cloud provider Nebius is acquiring 20-person startup Eigen AI, which optimizes chip performance for running (not training) AI models.
Nebius Group NV said it will acquire Eigen AI, a California startup focused on improving the performance of chips used to run AI models, in a deal valued at about $643 million in stock and cash. Eigen’s software aims to maximize the number of tokens generated per Nvidia chip during inference, which Nebius says will help it offer better and cheaper AI services to customers.
