Era raises $11M to build a software platform for AI gadgets
The startup is pitching an orchestration layer to help hardware makers route across models and manage real-world constraints.
Era, a startup building an orchestration platform for AI devices, has raised $11 million to date including a $9 million seed led by Abstract Ventures and BoxGroup, TechCrunch reported. The company says it wants to enable many AI hardware form factors (from glasses to jewelry) without building devices itself, providing a software layer for agent workflows, multimodal inputs, and model routing across providers.
Era was founded by former Humane/HP and Sutter Hill Ventures alumni, and it plans to open its platform to open-source and maker communities.
